To install a local mirror is a good idea. It reduces the net traffic and allows faster access. It also allows you to use UNIX tools (grep, find) to find data in the PRD.
To install the PRD, you need a UNIX system. (At home I use Linux on a 486 PC, it works good enough. The Linux-installation with a CD is not very hard.) If you have it, simply download the file (~ 1.3 MB)
prd.tar.gzto your local disc (don't forget to set the option "load to local disc" if you use Mosaic) and make
gunzip prd.tar.gz tar xf prd.tar
and you can start to read the PRD (~ 5MB) on your local disc, i.e. point your preferred Web browser to the local file
prd/index.html
If you make your files visible for public access, please inform me. I will send you in this case information about a new version. If you want, I include your site into the mirror list.
