J.M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan, had a rather special personal
interest in boys. At one point in his life he met three young brothers,
Peter being his favorite. After the boys' parents died Barrie adopted
the three. A recent PBS-TV show was based on this relationship. From
what I've heard, the boy's father was not too pleased with Barrie's
attraction to his sons.

Lewis Carroll (aka Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) originally created
the Alice in Wonderland for his very young friend as they walked
through the park. He also liked to take naked pictures of young
girls (some of which still survive today).

Horatio Alger, author of the "Rags to Riches" books which
were very popular earlier in the century became a famous writer
after he had to leave the clergy when he was found in the choir
loft committing an indecent act on some young boys. (He later
built a home for Newspaper Boys with the profits of his books
and kept an apartment there himself.)

While a biography of T.H. White, author of The Once and Future King
(King Arthur and the Knight of the Round Table) contained several
love letters to young boys that he was attracted to.

Walt Whitman certainly was attracted to young men and boys during
his day.

Wallace Hamilton (author of "Kevin") and Allen Ginsberg were both
members of NAMBLA.

While fine man/boy literature has been written by Peyrefitte,
Duvert, Davidson, Hamilton, Esser, Dukahz, and many many others.

Lord Baden-Powell, "founder of the Boy Scout movement" wrote of
his affection for his young charges and his delight in viewing
their naked bodies.

The famous American psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan "adopted"
a young teenager, and the two lived together some 22 years until
Sullivan's death.

Dr. Edward Brongersma, jurist, and author of several books on
man/boy love, was convicted of sex with a 16 year old and after
serving his sentence he was elected to the Dutch Senate and later
helped rewrite the laws in this area. He was subsequently knighted
by the Queen.

And in a recent biography of Benjamin Britten, the composer's
sexual attraction to several young boys is frankly discussed.

Lawrence of Arabia reportedly fell in lover with young Arab
boys during his campaign, and if we can believe the writings
about Alexander the Great, he too enjoyed the love of boys.

And the man who dominated professional tennis for over a
decade, Big Bill Tilden, caused a scandal because of his
attraction to the young ball boys.

And these are just a few people who's names come to mind.
