Presents an overview of the research on deviant sexual arousal by child molesters and rapists in response to sexually aggressive and nonaggressive cues. A number of studies have shown that rapists' erectile responses to descriptions of rape episodes are similar to their responses to descriptions of consensual sex. Unlike normal controls, the rapists do not discriminate. Other studies have shown that child molesters' penile tumescence responses to descriptions of child molestation with varied levels of violence or force are related to their own sexual offense history. - L.
