High res
I just noticed - we need a larger, high res image of at least one version of each concept for the main showcase. I saw that some of the images had lost their texture in the process of conversion, which is fine for the extended gallery. The Admins 16:39, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

:Maybe we also need more than one high-res image for some concepts? The Admins 17:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Admin is happy to pay for high res images without them being blown up from low-quality alternatives. Here is IsmAvatar's list of original proposals: http://www.ismavatar.com/flag/ The Admins 21:21, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Multiflag
When I originally proposed the Multiflag, it was simply a possible 3d representation of the AmaroSymbol, rather than having to create a background color for the flag. Thus, I don't really see how it is a separate proposal from the AmaroSymbol. IsmAvatar 06:24, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Amaro Adults
I've removed part of the con for the AmaroSymbol and Multiflag which read "and may be seen as restricting discourse to said groups - almost entirely composed of adults". I do not see how a flag can restrict discourse, nor the relevance of the comment. Perhaps I misunderstood the comment, in which case it should be clarified. Furthermore, I'm tempted to remove the Con bullet point altogether because I do not see how it only applies to existing groups. Last I checked, there's only 2 genders in the world: Male and Female (ignoring the inbetween stages, as they don't techincally classify as a third gender), and we are trying to encourage free love. If you are trying to say that the Free Love concept is too restrictive, then you might as well say it for almost all of the flags.
A flag representing social movement for the understanding of erotic attractions and relationships involving youth and adults is currently being formed. Participants from the BL/GL communities and allies from non-oriented sites such as Newgon.com will use the flag to spearhead the awareness campaign.

The Proposals Stage is nearing a conclusion, and the Voting Stage is next in line.

Voting
The submissions we have received are not final ideas, but concepts that will be worked on once they are chosen. In this sense, choosing a concept should be a matter of potential rather than superficial features (colour, finish, etc) of the blueprint. The concept will be chosen by a simple vote held on a number of related forums, with one vote and one reserve (tie-breaker) vote allocated to each registered screen name, and no one individual may vote on two or more different sites.

Candidates
These are the concepts which may be voted for. <!-- ::NOTE TO EDITORS:: The 'width' attributes next to the headers set the width of each column. Also, when adding lists, be sure to leave the line with the divider ('|') empty and start the list on the next line. This is because the MediaWiki engine recognises lists by seeing the asterisk (*) at the beginning of the line where the divider would be. -->
AP's simple design was used extensively on his now offline websites, but rarely elsewhere. A diamond incorporating two equally sized triangles symbolises union between two divided groups of people. Here, we submit it for a community vote.
*This simple and attractive design is easy to reproduce, and builds upon existing themes.
*It lacks symbolism beyond existent social groups.
|-
|align="center" | CLogo
|The CLogo is a traditional childlove symbol. It depicts a butterfly whose wings are formed by four hearts. Two are larger than the other two representing the adult and the child. Two are pink and the other two blue representing the masculine and feminine.
* Symbol widely accepted as associated to childlove and past movements.
* Already associated with a narrowly defined movement, hard to reproduce.
|-
|align="center" | Diagonal Stripes
|The tricolor diagonal stripes attempts to represent all aspects of CL. The color pink represents the feminine, blue for the masculine, and white both for the purity of these and for all those not included in the two categories of CL expression.
* Evolution on the tricolor design, more distinct and original.
* Simple to produce, and not affiliated with any symbolism that may cause conflict.
* May be too simple, stale or plain, not instantly recognizable as CL.
|-
|align="center" | Heart
|The heart is commonly associated with love, and for a long time has referred to the spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual core of the human being.
* Easily recognised universally as a sign of love
* Covers love from all beings and in all forms rather than restricting to defined parametres of acceptance
* May be too general; not unique to childlove
* The heart is slightly feminine and the GirlLove symbol uses hearts (as opposed to BoyLove's triangles).
|-
|align="center" | Multiflag
|A possible 3d representation of the AmaroSymbol. Instead of having to choose a background color and assemble the flag thusly, it could simply be mounted by the spine, thus creating a double flag.
*It lacks symbolism beyond existent social groups.
|The original Rainbow Flag was designed by the LGBT and has been used to convey one message: "diversity." The rainbow consists of many equal stripes of different colours across the visual spectrum, representing different individuals coming together harmoniously.
* Depicts similarity and relation to LGBT
* Buffs the message of "diversity" with more diversity
* Consists of many colours, making physical production more expensive
* May increase tension between LGBT and CL unless diplomatic solutions may be reached
* May be confused with LGBT, and not all CLs identify as homosexual
* A new and recognizable symbolism that embraces new perspectives
* Still incorporates the colors currently representative of CL
* Simple to produce.
* The symbolism may be too "child-like" and potentially not representative of older youth.
|align="center" | Taijitu
|The Taijitu (literally "diagram of the supreme ultimate") is a well known Taoist symbol representing the principle of yin yang - seemingly opposing forces that are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, giving rise to each other in turn.
* May be confused with traditional Taoist symbolism
* May cause the symbol to suffer the same fate as the swastika in the Western world
|-
|align="center" | Three Stripes
|The tricolor stripes attempts to represent all aspects of CL. The color pink represents the feminine, blue for the masculine, and white both for the purity of these and for all those not included in the two categories of CL expression.
* Simple to produce, and not affiliated with any symbolism that may cause conflict.
* May be too simple, stale or plain, not instantly recognizable as CL.
* Too similar to the flags of various countries, could lead to mistaken attribution.
|-
|align="center" | Triangles
Incorporating the spectrum of colour used to convey diversity, one triangle inside another symbolises inter-generational relationships.
*The symbol stands alone and can be easily developed into a flag.
*One possibility is a pennant design with more balance than the image used here.
*The symbolism could be seen as excluding, stereotyping and undermining the sexuality of youths.
|}

A flag representing social movement for the understanding of erotic attractions and relationships involving youth and adults is currently being formed.

*It lacks symbolism beyond existent social groups and may be seen as restricting discourse to said groups - almost entirely composed of adults.
A possible 3d representation of the AmaroSymbol. Instead of having to choose a background color and assemble the flag thusly, it could simply be mounted by the spine, thus creating a double flag.
* Buffs the message of "diversity" with more diversity
* Consists of many colours, making physical production more expensive
* May increase tension between LGBT and CL unless diplomatic solutions may be reached

Most of the concepts submitted already have two or more possible variations that the organisers will take into account when finalising the design.

Harmful to Minors (ISBN 0-8166-4006-8 [hardcover], ISBN 1-56025-516-1 [paperback]) is a research book written by Judith Levine which proposes that laws, programs, and terminology which are supposed to be "protecting children" from sex cause more damage than they prevent. The book cites a wide array of research in medical, psychological, historical, and criminological fields, along with many interviews to support its stories, facts, and conclusions. Due to the contents going against the Status Quo, Levine found it difficult to obtain a publisher, and, once she had, the book met with much controversy and requests to have the book banned and removed from libraries.

Included in the book are heavy criticisms of laws concerning child pornography, statutory rape, abortion for minors, and abstinence-only sex education. In particular, it even cites several examples of English churches from around the 70's promoting or hosting sex education for children including graphical videos or presentations.

The foreword was written by then-former United States Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders. Elders had resigned from her position after meeting great criticism from suggesting that masturbation be promoted as a means of preventing young people from engaging in riskier forms of sexual activity.

Harmful won the 2002 Los Angeles Times Book Award for Current Interest. Conservatives such as Joe Scarborough and Robert Knight accused Levine of promoting pedophilia for her suggestion that the US adopt statutory rape laws similar to those in the Netherlands.

In 2003, Thunder's Mouth Press released a trade paperback edition of the book, which includes a new afterword by Levine chronicling the public response to the book.
