I just noticed - we need a larger, high res image of at least one version of each concept for the main showcase. I saw that some of the images had lost their texture in the process of conversion, which is fine for the extended gallery. [[User:The Admins|The Admins]] 16:39, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

==Multiflag==

When I originally proposed the Multiflag, it was simply a possible 3d representation of the AmaroSymbol, rather than having to create a background color for the flag. Thus, I don't really see how it is a separate proposal from the AmaroSymbol. [[User:IsmAvatar|IsmAvatar]] 06:24, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

==Amaro Adults==

I've removed part of the con for the AmaroSymbol and Multiflag which read "and may be seen as restricting discourse to said groups - almost entirely composed of adults". I do not see how a flag can restrict discourse, nor the relevance of the comment. Perhaps I misunderstood the comment, in which case it should be clarified. Furthermore, I'm tempted to remove the Con bullet point altogether because I do not see how it only applies to existing groups. Last I checked, there's only 2 genders in the world: Male and Female (ignoring the inbetween stages, as they don't techincally classify as a third gender), and we are trying to encourage free love. Participants from the BL/GL communities and allies from non-oriented sites such as Newgon.com will use the flag to spearhead the awareness campaign.

==Voting==

The submissions we have received are not final ideas, but concepts that will be worked on once they are chosen. In this sense, choosing a concept should be a matter of potential rather than superficial features (colour, finish, etc) of the blueprint. The concept will be chosen by a simple vote held on a number of related forums, with one vote and one reserve (tie-breaker) vote allocated to each registered screen name, and no one individual may vote on two or more different sites.

'''''Harmful to Minors''''' (ISBN 0-8166-4006-8 [hardcover], ISBN 1-56025-516-1 [paperback]) is a research book written by Judith Levine which proposes that laws, programs, and terminology which are supposed to be "protecting children" from sex cause more damage than they prevent. The book cites a wide array of research in medical, psychological, historical, and criminological fields, along with many interviews to support its stories, facts, and conclusions. Due to the contents going against the [[Status Quo]], Levine found it difficult to obtain a publisher, and, once she had, the book met with much controversy and requests to have the book banned and removed from libraries.

Included in the book are heavy criticisms of [[law|laws]] concerning [[child pornography]], [[statutory rape]], [[abortion]] for minors, and [[abstinence]]-only [[sex education]]. In particular, it even cites several examples of English churches from around the 70's promoting or hosting sex education for children including graphical videos or presentations.

The foreword was written by then-former [[United States]] Surgeon General [[Joycelyn Elders]]. Elders had resigned from her position after meeting great criticism from suggesting that masturbation be promoted as a means of preventing young people from engaging in riskier forms of sexual activity.

''Harmful'' won the [[2002]] ''[[Los Angeles Times]]'' Book Award for [http://www.awardannals.com/wiki/Annal:2002_Los_Angeles_Times_Book_Prize_for_Current_Interest Current Interest]. [[Conservatives]] such as [[Joe Scarborough]] and [[Robert Knight]] accused Levine of promoting [[pedophilia]] for her suggestion that the US adopt [[statutory rape]] laws similar to those in the [[Netherlands]].

In 2003, Thunder's Mouth Press released a trade paperback edition of the book, which includes a new afterword by Levine chronicling the public response to the book.
