==Koichiro Ito's Arrest==

Ito was arrested on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, for having asked for ("induced") and received nude selfies ("child pornography") from a 15-year-old female high school student in September 2021, for which he reportedly paid her 12,500 yen (around $80). This violated Japan’s Child Prostitution and Pornography Prohibition Act, and according to the Japanese media outlet Mainichi Shimbun<ref>[https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20240222/p2a/00m/0na/023000c Mainichi Shimbun] source which is cited in virtually every English language write-up on the subject.</ref>, Ito confessed nonchalantly confessed, "I had a similar exchange with another person, so I can't remember if it was this girl or not."
