Yes, Daniel, it needs some work.
Hi
Considering that this is the comment section for newgon.com… what do you think of the theme, BLue Ribbon?
“Considering that this is the comment section for newgon.com… what do you think of the theme, BLue Ribbon?”
Hmm, is it designed to look like a huge banner at a gay pride parade, or a super-psychadelic studio at Glastonbury? 😉
Anyway, I like it, and certainly prefer it to the majority of blog themes 🙂
It’s quite hard to find a theme that is simple and linear, so I too went for a “Viklund”. It started off looking very much like ANU, but hopefully with a bit more tinkering, it’ll be pretty original.
You’ll also see what I was telling you about when you set up that censorship campaign. The “hater” post will be well buried, but still linked from the homepage of newgon.com.
If it matters at all, it’s possible to hide the “hater” post and similar from the index.
No, It’s fine. They should be more visible like this.
One thing I’ve seen is that the poster does not get credited.
I added the_author_nickname after the_time before noticing the posts themselves include the author. Is this manual or through php? (I can’t edit or write posts for some reason)
Nevermind, it works when I disable javascript.
Anyway, where do you think the_author_nickname should go?
It looks good as it is.
I’ve just put in offers on two collaborators. Although I want to finish the website before fully setting up the blog, these are trusted moderators, so don’t be surprised if some new members with high priveliges turn up.

I’m intending to do a re-design of the ANU colour scheme, but I need to learn more about CSS.
No you don’t. You need to learn about hexadecimal colour codes and Turchetto’s use of codeless text in stylesheets to signify what code relates to what part of the page. Both me and Sostratos can do this, but if you know about hex codes…

…you probably can too.
Taste the rainbow…
…don’t lick your screens.
I think that I’ll settle with this design.
This looks great!

I recommend ColorZilla: http://www.iosart.com/firefox/colorzilla/
Yeah, I think it’ll be our final design. I made sure that the navbar was shortened, so that it would be set in line with the chicane logo, which I think works well.
You recommened a link – well I’d have to change my browser from i.e. to get that. Is it worthwhile changing over? I’ve heard that you get access to less sites, but they look better.
>I’ve heard that you get access to less sites,
Sites that don’t work in Firefox are very rare, and ietab is an easy solution for them.
>but they look better.
Sort of. Internet Explorer screws a lot of rather simple CSS up, and if web developers didn’t pander to it with hacks, most modern websites would fail in IE. (Even DebateGuide’s simple layout uses at least two.)
Besides that, Firefox is more secure, less clunky, open-source, and has a lot of useful add-ons (like this).
Personally, I’d rather die than use IE 🙂
This looks nice. 🙂
So do you 😛 But how did you get here?
“But how did you get here?”
Rumor has it…I am psychic! 😛
…Of course, I started that rumor several years ago, for the fun of it, so it’s not to reliable.
I was online one day…yesterday, to be almost exact. 😉
I think, I was at boychat…happened across one of your posts (or that of some one who linked to something of yours), anyway, I clicked a link, and somewhere along the line, ended up at your old, blogspot blog. You linked to another place where you had moved your blog and other resources, I believe…and if I recall right, you had yet another link there, which led here.
All I really know, is that I followed a trail of links, and ended up here.
…Who’da known? 😉
Steve. I know that you have your own project, but would you be willing to sign up for this one? I would appreciate your input, even if it were duplicates of old posts or relevant material from your new project.
Sure. 🙂
All you need to do is create an account, and send me mail confirming that the account is yours. I will then upgrade you to moderator.
So all the [personal attack – Daniel] pedophiles are here!
Hi, Llort. Personal attacks are not allowed on this blog.
Not all the pedophiles are here, and not all here are pedophiles. At least myself and Matt are not pedophiles. I am in ongoing discussions with other non pedophiles.
Maybe you might like to suggest why you think this matters anyway.
Maybe you might like to give some polite, constructive feedback, so that I can list it under “negative” on our feedback page.
It’s not personal Daniel, believe me my attacks are against all [Edited defamation / argument from sexuality], not just the stupid ones!
[redundant, single word personal insult – Daniel.]
Yes Daniel, there is a lot of work needs doing here. I suggest you delete everything and start again. Perhaps you should use this forum to confess to the world of your [Defam]. Then post your Plymouth address, phone number, real name etc. so everything can be nicely fixed up! You could call it “Making a fresh start” What do you think [Defam- Daniel]?
While I’m happy about your choice of a theme, I would like to ask you to remove the footer credits to the theme designers. I appreciate credits and I would never demand anyone to change anything on their websites. But I’m asking kindly since I do not agree with the viewpoints that are expressed on this website and I do not want to get associated with such views. I hope that you can accept that request, it would be very appreciated!
Hi, Andreas. I can most certainly conform with your request. You may also like to have a look at anu.nfshost.com, although I think it would be a shame if any sane minded individual disagreed with their ethos.
As you can see, myself and Jillium have quite heavily modded the theme (including the appearence of authors in association with posts, which you might want to look into).
– Dan.
Update. Further to post #25, new members Raza and IsmAvatar are also not pedophiles.
