Hello everyone!

Roman Czyborra
Published on November 17, 2007

Hello everyone, just want to let you know that I have registered as a newgon.com poster since I was banned at Wikipedia for too much intelligence and dissidence. I am contesting my Wikipedia ban before a German court, as you can see in http://czyborra.com/pedofiles/k77/

  • In brief, Roman will be suing the German chapter of Wikimedia for damages and discrimination, after he was blocked form editing.
This is a pioneering lawsuit in terms of the internet and regional law, and will be very interesting to follow for that reason. Roman has promised to provide us with some translations.
Although the English speaking chapter of Wikimedia invalidate any lawsuit with disclaimers, it is worth bearing in mind that Roman was recently banned from that division for soliciting a minor. In fact, he only asked another user for a photograph, making the accusations highly defamatory and the censorship of his opinion all the more endangering.
One of the administrators (Krimpet) also tacitly implied that Mr Czyborra was a pedophile.

  • Welcome, Roman.

Your case raises some fascinating legal issues, and it will be interesting to see how it is handled both by the courts and the media. Do keep us updated as to its progress…

  • Welcome,

I agree with Strato, this will open some very interesting issues.

    Is Wikipedia privately owned?

I’ve basically always considered them to be bad for writing on socially stigmatized issues, just because of the way it is essentially a “free for all” environment, where anyone can register and change existing content.

I also know there is a hostile element amongst their higher ups, who will actively ostracize people who hold what they believe to be “the wrong” view on intergenerational love.

It is a critical problem at Wikipedia, which has left me wondering why people choose it as a medium to talk about this issue at all.

Regardless…I’m guessing this is not so much a censorship issue, as a defamation one?

I’m just trying to get an understanding of where the teeth are at, in this law suit, that is all.

The best of luck to you in this. We need more people standing up and challenging the current trends.

  • As far as I know, Roman has found weaknesses with regard to personal injury, discrimination and censorship.

I feel that it will be hard for him to win on the latter charge, but I await information on the others. It is a shame that he has no legal case against the behaviour of Krimpet, who wrongly accused him of a serious crime and then implied that he was a pedophile (unfortunately, when you remove someone’s right to defend theirself on the same forum, this is a very dangerous accusation).

  • Fantastic idea. Put a sizeable proportion of the population on a death sentence. They might as well do as they wish, because the penalty is the same whether they act or not.

    Brilliant 🙁
