RSO movement incorporates local groups of RSOs, their families and unregistered individuals who wish to abolish any form of restriction (registry or order) that distinguishes sex offenders from other classes of criminal. RSO activists focus on civil rights, legal fairness, evidence-based policy, and the reduction of social stigma for RSO and their families. Their goals include opposing lifetime registries, challenging residency and employment restrictions, and promoting rehabilitation and reintegration over punishment.
