SOPO

In the UK, the Sexual offences prevention order (SOPO) is a form of sex offender restriction applied to an offender at sentencing or after suspicious behaviour has been documented in the community. Police and the probation service both have significant powers in the proposal and modification of these orders in court. The SOPO enforces restrictions on the offender's behaviour, in order to protect the public from harm. These include registration if it is not already a requirement.

The SOPO was introduced as part of the Sexual Offences Act, 2003 and replaced the previous sex offender and restraining orders.
