Rolando Paul Jiménez Pérez (Born April 18, 1960) is a famous and influential Chilean LGBT activist, member of the Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (Movilh).
Rolando Jiménez began his political career as a Left-wing community leader during Chile's military Fascist dictatorship, before being arrested and exiled multiple times by the regime. Eventually, around 1986, Jiménez was pressured to resign from the Communist Party due to the potential scandal and reputational damage his homosexuality might bring, and moved towards sexual politics.
In 1991, he was one of the founders of the Homosexual Liberation Movement (Movilh), from which he was expelled in 1995 after a series of controversies with the institution, including a report in the newspaper La Nación denouncing sexism and discrimination within the movement, and his participation as a Movilh representative at the annual conference of the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) — held in New York in 1994 — where the expulsion of NAMBLA was being discussed. Movilh agreed to abstain, but Jiménez voted in favor of its continued membership, disregarding the organization's decision.
Because Rolando Jiménez voted in favor of NAMBLA remaining a member of ILGA, he has often been the subject of critical and incendiary media. However, we have found no clear statements by Jiménez which suggest support for age gap sex or minor-attracted people, with some outlets claiming that Jiménez has never showed any support for pedophilia.[1] We speculate that Jiménez may have had some sympathy for homosexual relationships involving consenting teenagers, but not for relations involving pre-pubescent children (i.e. pedophilia's proper definition).
We will update this page if and when credibly sourced information becomes known to us.

Quote: The perverse falsehoods and horrific miscontexts of this story are the following: a.- The only specific task that was entrusted to Jiménez at the Conference was the negotiation of projects and obtaining financial support for the movement. In relation to Nambla nothing was said, since the information available up to that point on the matter in Chile was null. b.- That Jiménez actually voted in a close vote against the expulsion of Nambla, but this is not the same as supporting the permanence of an organization that promotes pedophilia in the ILGA.
