This is something I will get done soon. I would really like to see original content in French and other languages, but even the English section struggles for regular editors, so this looks unlikely for now. Maybe we could encourage participation by having a French forum? If you or someone you know would be willing to moderate this once a week, we can open such a forum instantly. How to start
Original content in french could be a good idea. Translating takes lots of time for me. For example 1 month for Uncommon sens edition n°2. We must found new editors or/and translators. Perhaps, creating a french forum could help to recruit new contributors. I can moderate it alone at the beginning.
About "links", could we separate original content and translated content (with distinct URLs) ? Could we have only original content with help of other languages content like wikipedia. Translating could be more useful for special content like online magazine (Uncommon sens), high quality document (for example http://www.ibld.net/basicfacts/basicfacts.cgi )
- What I intend to do is have just one class of alternative language content, or at least classes identical to the English section. Content can be translated, but there is no reason that it cannot be modified (barring magazines, essays, etc) if only we had the editors.
- I will set up a Fr forum, but it will be hidden to unfamiliar members when under construction. I think all that needs to be done is a translation of the Forum rules, and that can maybe stay as a sticky in the forum. We'll link to it in the English rules section, and we'll look into making the software speak French under user command. The Admins
