This is a page where NewgonWiki Editors can discuss NewgonWiki in one place. For help editing, Help:Editing. Our discussions can be found from the main indexes of the Wiki here.

Tyciol

The forum for Newgon used to be up at http://newgon.com/forum/ but it's down like, all the time now man.

here is a shot from 2011 for wiki feedback.

As for the forum overall February 17, 2008 is the earliest wayback grab. October 21 is the last from 2008. I am not sure if there are any other working waybacks, feel free to post them.

Welcome back. We will be creating a new forum and possibly removing the old one as it is very old, with not much useful information on it. Maybe we will let a few editors such as yourself mine it with their old permissions if you have any interest in doing so. It was another admin who closed it to the public/editors, and I'll be waiting for his return before this reopening ever happens. The Admins 01:36, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

NewgonWiki is back

After problems with our American Webhost, Newgon.com is secured in Europe and the Wiki is once again editable. We will be making a few changes to the site, such as creating a new forum, but this will probably happen after some heavy-handed editing of the Wiki by admins. This will get the wiki into the kind of shape where it can be realistically maintained as an up-to date information resource by 2-4 editors. This does not mean removing useful information or archives, but instead, removing/merging pages devoted to Wikipedia Editors, etc, and just making a few updates The Admins 01:45, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

And finally, this is getting acted on --The Admins (talk) 21:12, 22 September 2021 (CEST)

Audience

I think it is quite widely known that Newgon.com does well with audience, but to give some idea, the site was getting an average of about 1150 visits a day towards the end of last month. Our task now is focusing that on less and better content without losing our profile in search engines. Creating and modifying content where appropriate will also bear fruits by encouraging our real and robot viewers to come back more frequently. The Admins 02:46, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Subcategories vs Articles

One problem with the category tree is that it displays only subcategories - which are unused here. With the way we use categories here, a better idea would be a category tree that counts the number of articles within a category and displays them if you expand by clicking [+]. Currently, the tree gives the impression of there being no articles in a category. The Admins 02:58, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
