- The quote I found via David Riegel's 2005 book Could they all have been wrong? The book is a collection of relevant quotes from academics / notable people in the past. So, I am fairly sure the ellipses and square brackets are by Riegel, quoting from a lengthy passage. :) --Prue (talk) 10:13, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
